چکیده

Smmmiry Clients often provide reasons, justifications, and explanations (i.e., attributions) about the causes of their problems and what they believe needs to be done to ameliorate them. Behavior therapists also frequently generate hypotheses about causal factors contributing to client behavior problems. We discuss the function of attributing in the context of behavior therapy and interpret the cognitive construct of attributions from a behavior analytic perspective as a verbal act of relating otherwise arbitrary events with origins in a social-verbal community. The applied implications of our interpretive analysis of attributions and their role in client problems suggest different therapeutic strategies. © 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd

Direct iterative tuning via spectral analysis

This paper introduces a nonparametric frequency-domain scheme for tuning closed-loop systems. A linear quadratic criterion is used for guiding the system towards an optimal-regulation state. The computation of tuning directions is performed with unbiased estimates of "rst and second derivatives of the cost function. In order to provide cautious adjustments of the controller parameters, this sch...

A note on the minimum size of a vertex pancyclic graph

Let G be a graph on n/> 3 vertices. Then G is vertex pancyclic if every vertex of G is contained in cycles of length 3, 4, . . . , n. Let m n denote the minimum number of edges of a vertex pancyclic graph on n vertices. We show that m 3 = 3, m, = 5, m 5 = 7, m 6 = 9, and ~ n < m. ~< [_~ n ] (n >~ 7).

Multilevel Secure Database Encryption with Subkeys

In this paper, we propose a multilevel database encryption system with subkeys. This new system is called the record-oriented cryptosystem which encrypts each record with different field-subkeys according to a security class of the data element. Each field is decrypted individually by the field-subkeys of which security class is higher than or equal to that of the encrypted field-subkeys. This ...

On the discretization of LMI-synthesized linear parameter-varying controllers

Reliable and eecient techniques are now available to synthesize gain-scheduled controllers. Such techniques take advantage of Linear Matrix Inequality (LMI) characterizations of gain-scheduled controllers and provide a global and systematic treatment of the gain-scheduling problem. This paper examines how such controller structures, designed in continuous time, can be discretized and implemente...

An LMI approach to H∞ controller design for linear time-delay systems

We develop an output feedback H, control design method for linear time-delay systems based on the linear-matrix-inequality (LMI) approach. A sufficient condition for the existence of H, controllers of any order is given in terms of three LMIs. The condition is valid for both singular and regular problems. We also give a characterization of H, controllers in state space. The LMI existence condit...
